Doing weight training? Avoid a shoulder injury with these tips

Summer is in full swing, the new year is well underway and everybody is still wholly committed to materializing their new years resolutions. Which means, of course, that gym memberships have increased in leaps and bounds. Because everybody wants to be fit, to look good, and shed those unwanted kilo's picked up over the festive season.

A mistake that many make when rolling out this popular new year's resolution, is to head to the gym with a mission to get fit and get fit fast. Which may result in strenuous work out routines. And further result in something like a shoulder injury.

Here are two simple tips to follow to avoid any injuries (and costly hospital bills):
1. Know your limits. Don't stack the barbell with too much weight, as the unfamilair strain to your tendons can cause it to tear.
2. Do not over train. Follow a weight training routine that you are comfortable with - work at a pace that suits you, not anybody else.
